Roof drains are often built in behind the frontage of a building and are designed to carry rainfall and melted snowfall away from the roof. Their function often goes unnoticed because they are hidden from sight. When a leak occurs within the roof drainpipe system, it can be detrimental to the electrical wiring that is also built inside the walls. The leaks can also seep out into living spaces, damaging drywall, flooring, and personal items.
Roof drain systems can be quite extensive and when a leak comes to your attention, there is a great possibility that more leaks exist within the current pipeline system. If your roof drains are suffering from a leak, look no further than Marvel Sewer and Drain is here in the Plymouth, Minnesota area to fix the problem and ease your concerns.
When you call us with a suspected roof drain leak, we will employ our industry standard Ridgid brand camera with its optic cable into your roof drain system. We will perform a video inspection to find all cracks or clogs. The video feed will also display any corrosion that needs cleaning before the located cracks are repaired.
If a clog is found, Marvel Sewer and Drain will utilize our hydro jetting services to remove the clog as quickly and safely as possible. This method employs a high-pressure hose and an attached water-jet head that forcefully washes the inside of the pipeline to a clean surface. This same method can be used to clean the corrosion from the inside of the pipe system, allowing more cracks to be uncovered and preparing the pipeline for the next step in our repair system.
The completion step in our state of the art roof drain repair method is to insert a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner. A liner infused with a durable epoxy resin is inserted into the pipe. The proper placement of the liner is confirmed via another camera inspection. The liner is then inflated, pressing the epoxy resin against the interior circumference of the original pipe. The durable resin is allowed to cure and harden. After a few short hours, the process is complete and the liner is removed. Proper curing of the now impenetrable resin is confirmed with a final camera inspection.
CIPP lining all of your roof drain lines requires only a few days. This process is much more cost-effective than replacing your entire complex of drain pipes with new pipes. There is no tearing apart and replacing your building’s façade, or internal drywall, and because the pipes are left in place, there are no extra costs for a large workforce, machinery, or new pipes. Residents or customers are impacted for a very short time, and we are proud to offer a solution that is fast to install and serves our customers for many years after the installation is complete.
After the roof drain-lining repair is performed, your building’s roof drains will be protected for years to come. Our experienced team will discuss with you how far in the future a preventative pipeline inspection should be planned.
