Trenchless Sewer Pipe Lining in Hennepin County

Here at Marvel Sewer and Drain, we value using our trenchless services highly because using them we are able to save time and money for our customers. Trenchless services take a fraction of the time and are more effective in many cases than excavation-based services. Long gone are the days of excavations and excessive digging to reach the pipes and access them directly. Now, we have the ability to access the pipes internally through pre-existing access points in your system. Even for the biggest fixes such as replacing sections of pipes, we can work inside the pipes from above ground without even needing to dig so much as a hole.

How Pipelining Works

The start of sewer pipe lining begins with a simple inspection to ensure you’re a candidate for this process. Candidates will include those that have systems that are failing or sections of the system that needs extensive work, but that are not so badly damaged that a the lining will not hold. Our relining allows us to fix those areas or the failing system in one service visit. Once the inspection is done, we clean the pipes. This is done to ensure we are using a clean slate to get the job done. We will then be relining and want to ensure the liner is able to fit directly onto the pipes without a toxic layer in between that will ruin the process and eat away at the old and new pipe over the years if not removed.

Now comes the relining process. We begin with cutting a liner that will fit to the section or entire track of the pipe system, depending on which is needed. The liner is then pushed throughout the system and once in place, it is inflated. Next, the liner is heated up with steam, which allows it to cure onto the old pipe that it is inside of. Finally, it will harden and seal any cracks or leaks that were present in the old pipes, leaving a brand new pipe inside the old one. After holes are cut to open the pipes to connecting pipes or the city line, the job is done.
